MGMA statement on the Supporting Medicare Providers Act of 2021

"The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) appreciates the actions taken by Representatives Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA) and Larry Bucshon, M.D. (R-IN) to prevent payment cuts to Medicare in CY 2022, which would undermine medical group practices’ ability to deliver care to the nation’s most vulnerable patients. The bipartisan Supporting Medicare Providers Act of 2021 (H.R. 6020) would provide critical relief to physician practices by averting the 2021 Medicare physician payment cut of 3.75% for an additional year. MGMA supports this legislation and urges Congress to pass it expeditiously, giving group practices the much-need stability."
