MGMA statement on COVID-19 vaccine rollout status

"MGMA is hearing concerns from medical practices on two fronts with respect to the vaccine rollout. First is the critical need to vaccinate clinicians and staff and second with respect to their role in vaccinating patients and the general public. The vast majority of healthcare in this country is delivered outside the hospital setting, and independent practices shouldn’t be penalized because of their affiliation status. We need to protect clinicians and staff in the outpatient setting where most patients receive care. Medical practices will play a major role in vaccine distribution across the country, yet lack of federal coordination is creating huge variability with distribution, administration, education, and access in the states."
