About Richard Loria, MD
Dr. Loria graduated from the University of Navarre School of Medicine, Pamplona, Spain, a leading European academic medical center. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore. He then completed a fellowship in adult and pediatric allergy and immunology at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Mo.
He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been board certified three times by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Loria founded and for 30 years directed one of the largest specialty practices in allergy and immunology in Northern Virginia, with offices in Fairfax and Loudoun counties. The practice equally served both adults and children, addressing the spectrum of allergic disorders as well as complex immune deficiency states.
For more than 15 years, Dr. Loria was selected by his peers as “Top Doctor” in The Washingtonian and Northern Virginia magazines. Dr. Loria developed proficiency in practice management, developed patient safety protocols, and frequently lectured to his medical colleagues in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C.
After 30 years in private practice, Dr. Loria joined the faculty of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va., with an appointment through the Department of Pediatrics, as Associate Professor, Allergy and Immunology. During his tenure at VCU, Dr. Loria was responsible for overseeing the clinical activities of division fellows, medical residents, and medical students, as well as lecturing on a regular basis for the division of Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Loria maintains a telehealth practice in Virginia. Dr. Loria is fluent in Spanish and English.
