On December 2, CMS published in the Federal Register a set of final amendments to regulations governing provider enrollment in the Medicare program. The changes were published as part of the Agency’s annual update to payment rates and related rules governing home health agencies. 90 Fed. Reg. 55342 et seq. The enrollment provisions, however, are in no way limited to home health, and will affect all provider and supplier types, including physicians, medical groups and other physician organizations. As such, they have implications for virtually all MGMA members regardless of ownership or structure. The new rules become effective on January 1, 2026.
