
Alex Binder, MBA, FACMPE - Vice President, Advanced Care Institute VNA Health Group
Alex Binder is Vice President of the Advanced Care Institute for the New Jersey-based VNA Health Group and is responsible for overseeing their home-based primary care practice as well as their palliative medicine program. His responsibilities include enhancing and expanding the delivery of home-based primary care as well as broadening the reach of palliative medicine in hospital, post-acute, and community settings.
Prior to joining the VNA Health Group, Alex was the Chief Operating Officer/Practice Manager of Visiting Physician Services (VPS) for over 15 years. Through his efforts and dedication, VPS had become one of the largest “house call only” medical practices in the country. Alex is an adjunct professor at Monmouth University’s Leon Hess Business School and holds an MBA with a concentration in healthcare administration. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
Under Alex’s leadership and guidance, Visiting Physician’s practice has grown to a staff of 39 medical professionals who treat patients throughout 8 NJ counties. In 2007 NJBIZ named Visiting Physician Services winner of the Healthcare Hero Award in the Company Innovation category. In 2008 the Society on Aging of New Jersey presented Visiting Physician Services with the Best Demonstrated Practice Award.
Alex served as President of the New Jersey Medical Group Management Association in 2016-17, is a member of the American Academy of Home Care Medicine (AAHCM) and is serving as co-chair for the AAHCM’s 2018 Annual Conference.
Alex enjoys outdoor activities such as biking, skiing, and golf.
