MIPS Comparison of 2017 and 2018 Policies

In Nov. 2017, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) finalized changes to the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), which are generally effective on Jan. 1, 2018. This resource provides a quick overview of the differences between the 2017 and 2018 requirements. In response to MGMA recommendations, the second year of MIPS continues an on-ramp to participation and increases flexibility for medical groups. MGMA will continue to advocate on behalf medical groups by calling on CMS to improve the MIPS program.
