Analysis: Proposed 2023 Medicare Physician Payment and Quality Reporting Changes

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the proposed 2023 Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) on July 7, 2022, which makes changes to both Medicare physician payment and quality reporting program policies that generally take effect Jan. 1, 2023. These policies are only proposals and could be changed in the final PFS, which is usually released on or around Nov. 1 of each year.
