    Patient collections in a medical practice are an integral part of the revenue cycle.  The depth of knowledge of the staff and the engagement of the patient are a vital part of this process and have a direct impact to the bottom line.  In the current landscape of complex insurance structures and requirements, practices must invest in their processes for educating and training staff to these concepts so they can successfully engage patients in financial discussions. This paper provides a five-week roadmap to practice managers and administrators that details the necessary steps and tools required to produce financially significant outcomes.  The real world results of its implementation are discussed.
