    Beginning Jan. 1, 2026, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will implement updates to Medicare physician payment and quality reporting, including several notable updates to reimbursement and value-based care initiatives. Join MGMA Government Affairs staff for a preview of what to look for in 2026. Attendees will gain insights about payment and policy changes outlined in the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule final rule. Additionally, the presenters will provide details about Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting requirements, the MIPS Value Pathways (MVPs) implementation timeline, and alternative payment model (APM) participation and reporting options for 2026. The session will conclude with a discussion of MGMA’s advocacy initiatives and an interactive Q&A session with Government Affairs staff.

    This 60-minute webinar will provide you with the knowledge to:

    • Examine Medicare payment policies in the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule
    • Break down MIPS reporting and APM participation options in 2026
    • Outline MGMA’s current advocacy priorities and resources available to assist you

    James Haynes, JD
    Associate Director, Government Affairs, MGMA

    Prior to joining MGMA, James Haynes was the Federal Policy Director for the nonprofit organization Veterans Education Success where he worked to support student veterans in higher education. Previously, James held the roles of Federal Policy Manager, Legal Advisor, and Law Fellow within the organization.  

    James received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and is licensed to practice law in Virginia. During law school, James worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Robin Meriweather on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, as well as for the Honorable Wanda Keyes Heard on the Circuit Court of Baltimore City. Additionally, he gained experience as a legal intern at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia Homicide Division.  

    Prior to attending law school, James graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech University.

    Madison Hynes, MPP
    Associate Director, Government Affairs, MGMA

    Madison Hynes is an Associate Director for the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), working within the Government Affairs team.

    Before joining MGMA, Madison was a senior consultant at Duty First Consulting where she worked with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on Marketplace policy implementation across HealthCare.gov and third-party organizations. Her focus was on program eligibility and health equity.

    Madison earned her master’s degree in public policy from George Mason University and received a bachelor's degree in international studies from Boston College.

    Hannah Grow
    Associate Director, Government Affairs, MGMA

    Hannah Grow is an Associate Director for MGMA, working within the Government Affairs team.

    Before joining MGMA, Hannah was a Public Health Advisor in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where she acted as a subject-matter expert and liaison between federal agencies. She previously worked as a Senior Health Care Analyst at the U.S. Government Accountability Office, conducting performance audits of federal health programs and policies in response to legislative mandates and requests from congressional members and committees.

    Hannah holds a master’s degree in public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s in Spanish and health policy and administration from Penn State University.
