    The Medical Group Management Association’s most recent MGMA Stat poll asked healthcare leaders if quality performance metrics are tied to their physician compensation plans. The majority of respondents (60%) said no, while 38% said yes. The remaining 2% were unsure. This poll was conducted on March 26, 2019, with 1,238 applicable responses.

    Respondents who answered “yes” were asked to list the quality metrics tied to their physician compensation plans. Although quality metrics vary by organization and physician specialty, those most frequently cited include:

    • Patient screenings
    • Patient satisfaction
    • HEDIS measures
    • MACRA/MIPS
    • Readmission rates
