Medical Practice Managing Partner

Job Title: Managing Partner
 
Some tasks are performed in conjunction with the Practice Administrator (PA), the Executive Committee and others such as the Clinical Scheduler.  Duties listed include all areas where the primary responsibility rests with MP to see that the task is completed, the issue is considered, the question asked.

  1. Supervise Practice Administrator
  • Initiate daily (or near-daily) contact via phone, visit, email Supervise PA work priorities
  • Monitor delegated duties: meetings, minutes, votes
  • Monitor PA schedule: continuing education, vacations and days off
  1. Monitor and participate in production of monthly schedule
  • Review preliminary schedules and shift counts
  • Work to balance physician workload and move toward integration
  • Make decisions on problematic issues or situations regarding the schedule Authorize final schedule distribution each month
  1. Administer day-to-day operations of group according to CAMA policies Seek consensus on policy where there is none established
  • Authorize purchase of supplies, furniture or equipment <$500 Recommend expenditures to Executive Committee <$5,000
  • Serve as liaison with billing, bookkeeping, and accounting service providers if needed
  1. Serve as main contact and lead person on all general management duties
  • Participate in third-party contract negotiations and monitoring if needed
  • Provide signature on partnership documents and contracts
  • Serve as contact point for concerns about CAMA physician performance issues
  1. Participate fully in all aspects of recruitment & hiring, including initial contact, interviews and recommendations to Partnership to hire or not.
  2. Monitor (& assist facilities or PA in developing) compliance, quality assurance and risk management policies and procedures as needed:
  • HIPAA compliance, performance evaluation, medical & clinical standards and guidelines, and so on. 
  • Serve as the "Licensed Healthcare Professional" for review of access determinations under HIPAA.
  1. Develop professional policy, group strategy and goal planning items for consideration by Executive Committee and group.
  2. Serve as backup to PA to monitor & analyze fiscal areas: distribution, payors, aging, and production.
