The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) charted new value-based territory for Medicare physician reimbursement – both in traditional fee-for-service and alternative payment models (APMs). Ahead of the second year of MIPS and APMs, this session will review key changes to the participation requirements and steps practice leaders should take to be successful in this new payment structure. This session will also describe significant changes in the 2018 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) final rule impacting medical group reimbursement, such as retroactive adjustments to PQRS and the Value-Based Payment Modifier requirements. Attendees will learn about MGMA’s ongoing advocacy efforts to shape these Medicare payment programs and reduce the regulatory burden on physician practices. Finally, the speakers will answer questions from participants about 2018 Medicare policies.

This 75-minute webinar will provide you with the knowledge to:

  • Distinguish new Medicare payment policies affecting reimbursement in 2018
  • Evaluate MIPS and APM opportunities and challenges moving into year two of the programs
  • Leverage MGMA resources to help navigate your practice to success in the new year
