For a medical practice manager, there are many opportunities to focus on new clinic space, whether remodeling, expanding, or constructing a brand new building. Construction is always a significant project and when considering the almost limitless options, an administrator needs to evaluate the long-term impact of these decisions. This research paper summarizes a search of current literature on Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certified medical office buildings. It also includes a survey from a medical practice that operates in a LEED certified clinic. The research is intended to support any medical practice professional who would like to know more about LEED certified clinic space and the benefits of choosing this method of construction. However, anyone in a decision-making role in a hospital or doctor owned medical practice will benefit from this research.
