Mental Healthcare is an essential part of basic healthcare in our society, yet the lack of funding or resources makes access to care extremely limited.  This focus paper dives into the reasons why Mental Healthcare is understaffed, underfunded, lacks resources and further explores the increasing patient demand within the field including statistics of people who are suffering with a mental health condition or diagnosis. It will give background on the reimbursements and resources and explore new models of access to care including Telepsychiatry and will show the vital role that an Administrator has in this field.
