This session will cover the steps Mainstreet Pediatrics took to ensure patient engagement, access and safety has remained strong throughout the pandemic. Topics will include patient education, coding and billing challenges, and workflow changes.

As an Associate Director of Government Affairs, Claire represents MGMA in Washington, D.C., on a variety of legislative and regulatory issues important to MGMA members. In this role, she informs policy makers of the critical role medical practices play in the healthcare industry and advocates on their behalf in front of Congress and federal agencies. Claire earned a law degree from Suffolk University Law School and a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from Franklin & Marshall College.

Lorri Phipps, DNP, RN, CPNP-PC

Owner, Chief Executive Officer, Mainstreet Pediatrics

Lorri Phipps, DNP, RN, CPNP-PC is the owner, chief executive officer and main provider at Mainstreet Pediatrics in Parker Colo. She is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner with 30 years of pediatric nursing experience. Dr. Phipps has practiced in a variety of healthcare settings including pediatric primary, acute and chronic care. She has additional training and expertise in complex care management, staff development, program development and clinical research. She is an assistant professor at the University of Arizona College of Nursing.

A decorated veteran of the United States Air Force officer, Dr. Phipps received her bachelor of science and master of science in nursing from Marquette University and her doctorate in nursing practice from the University of Arizona.

Owen Dahl is a nationally recognized medical practice management consultant with more than 48 years’ experience in consulting and managing medical practices. His expertise includes revenue cycle management, strategic planning, organizational behavior and information systems implementation. Dahl is a recognized national speaker on topics such as Lean, revenue cycle, scenario planning, practice operations, change and disaster preparedness. He is the author of such titles as Think Business – Medical Practice Quality, Efficiency, and Profits and The Medical Practice Disaster Guide Book, and coauthored Lean Six Sigma for the Medical Practice. In addition, he writes and contributes articles that appear in MGMA Connection, Medical Economics, Physicians Practice and several other publications. Dahl received his Bachelor’s degree in hospital administration from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., and his MBA from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley. He has completed doctoral work at NOVA Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

 American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE)

This program is approved as a live learning event for ACMPE continuing education hours. A cumulative total of 50 ACMPE continuing education credit hours is among the requirements for attaining the Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) credential. To maintain CMPE or Fellow status, you must earn 50 hours of qualifying credit hours every three years, of which 30 hours must come from MGMA national, state or local offerings, including 12 from a live learning event.

ACHE Qualified Education

By attending the Certificate Program: Best Practices for Optimizing a Successful Telehealth Program offered by the Medical Group Management Association, participants may earn up to 3.25 ACHE Qualified Education Hours toward initial certification or recertification of the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) designation.

One ACHE credit is earned for every 60 minutes of educational content, rounded down to the nearest 0.25.

Continuing Medical Education (CME)

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The Medical Group Management Association is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 

The Medical Group Management Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Participants of pre-approved seminars are eligible to receive content specific Certificates through MGMA’s certifying body, the American College Of Medical Executives (ACMPE).

Certificates are the industry acknowledged achievement for time inclusive opportunities to complete an entire course or seminar and have provided paperwork for your resume or employer of completion without on-going requirements to continue demonstrating a skillset. Certificates offered through ACMPE build skills and knowledge in a specific area of practice.
