Continuing Education Information
 
Delivery method: Group Internet Based | Internet Live Course
Learning level: Intermediate – Education that builds on a basic curriculum, designed to improve your ability to analyze and apply skills learned to a topic or knowledge area.
Learning format: Traditional 
Prerequisites: A basic understanding of the topic or knowledge area.
Advance preparation: None
Duration: 60 minutes
 
Claiming Credit:
If you wish to claim continuing education credit, you must first attend the webinar and pass the associated exam with a score of 80% or higher.
 
Registration is required for BOTH the webinar and the exam.
 
  • ACMPE, medical practice administrators in certification and Fellowship through ACMPE
    • Exam must be completed no later than: Sept. 12, 2020
  • ACHE, American College of Healthcare Executives Qualified Education
    • Attendance at the live instructor lead program
    • Exam must be completed no later than: Sept. 12, 2020
  • CME, licensed physicians (MD/DO)
    • Exam must be completed no later than: Sept. 12, 2020 
  • CPE, Continuing Professional Education for accountants
    • Attendance at the live instructor lead program
    • Exam must be completed no later than: Sept. 12, 2020
  • CEU, generic continuing education credit
    • Exam must be completed no later than: Sept. 12, 2020           
 
After you register for the exam, instructions on how to access the exam will be emailed to you. 
 
Team Participation:
Participants who want to claim continuing education credit must be individually registered for the webinar and subsequent exam. If registered participants attend as a team, the person who launched the webinar will need to email a list (first and last names) of all participants to continuinged@mgma.com after the webinar has concluded. Each participant will be required to complete the exam under his/her own account.  
 
Team participation is not allowed to claim CME credit for this program.

American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE)
 
This program is approved as a live learning event for ACMPE continuing education hours. A cumulative total of 50 ACMPE continuing education credit hours is among the requirements for attaining the Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) credential. To maintain CMPE or Fellow status, you must earn 50 hours of qualifying credit hours every three years, of which 30 hours must come from MGMA national, state or local offerings, including 12 from a live learning event.

ACHE Qualified Education
 
By attending the How to Infuse New Levels of Innovation into Revenue Cycle Management webinar offered by the Medical Group Management Association, participants may earn up to 1 ACHE Qualified Education Hour toward initial certification or recertification of the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) designation.
 
One ACHE credit is earned for every 60 minutes of educational content, rounded down to the nearest 0.25.
 
Continuing Medical Education (CME)
 
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The Medical Group Management Association is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Tom’s focus is building the Revenue Cycle End to End Partnership solution by delivering products and innovations between patients, payers and providers to bring transparency and efficiency to the revenue cycle. He facilitates developing strategic partnerships by analyzing and assessing healthcare market conditions and companies, identifying new innovations and opportunities in applied intelligence, and defining collaboration opportunities between payers and providers. Tom has a MBA from the Penn State Smeal College of Business, a Masters and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State, and is a veteran of the United States Navy nuclear submarine force. He has more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare and medical device industries developing new products, innovations and services. He holds several patents on a collapsible left ventricular assist device and has launched dozens of products and services into domestic and international markets.

Live Instructor Exam Refund Policy
Exam cancellation requests must be received prior to the start time of the live program to be eligible for a full refund. Fees cannot be refunded after the live program has started.
 
Live Facilitator Cancellation Policy
If for any reason MGMA must cancel this program, MGMA will notify participants by email of the cancellation no less than 48 hours prior to the expected start time. Full exam refunds will be processed within 90 days of the cancellation.
