Unable to connect to their EHR, thousands of small physician practices were left with no other option but to treat their patients without access to their medical records amid a ransomware attack on Allscripts. Many others were forced to cancel scheduled surgeries and procedures leading to a huge loss of revenue, according to FierceHealthcare.
