MGMA Stat poll confirms importance of measuring organizational performance using patient satisfaction surveys

The Medical Group Management Association’s most recent MGMA Stat poll asked healthcare leaders if their organization conducts patient satisfaction surveys. Overwhelmingly, respondents indicated that conducting these surveys was a part of their workflow. In a follow-up question, more than four out of five said they used patient satisfaction surveys to measure organizational performance. Overall, 82% of leaders polled responded that their organization conducted patient satisfaction surveys, 17% did not and the remaining 1% were unsure. 

The poll was conducted on June 5, 2018, with 1,647 total responses. MGMA Principal Consultant, Kenneth T. Hertz, FACMPE, provides tips on the utilization of patient satisfaction survey results in his article, satisfaction for the patient wins every time.
