CMS clarification on MIPS public health registry reporting

CMS released a new fact sheet to reduce confusion regarding reporting the MIPS Promoting Interoperability (PI) public health objective. This objective requires eligible clinicians (ECs) to report to two out of five possible registry options but there may not be applicable registries available to ECs, either due to their specific specialty or location. The fact sheet confirms it is sufficient to claim exclusions to two measures to be excluded from the objective without a scoring penalty; ECs are not expected to claim exclusions to all five possible registry options.
