House Republicans release ACA repeal and replace legislation


This week, the Republican House Leadership unveiled legislation intended to repeal and replace parts of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The legislation, entitled “the American Health Care Act (AHCA),” debuted to mixed reviews from both parties. The legislation would repeal the ACA’s employer and individual mandates and replace them with refundable tax credits for individuals to purchase health insurance and cost-sharing reductions with tax credits that vary by age and income.
