Download MGMA’s analysis of proposed 2018 Medicare payment and quality changes

MGMA recently released a comprehensive analysis of two proposed regulations impacting Medicare payment policies and quality reporting requirements for 2018. We synthesized lengthy regulatory text into 11 pages, giving busy practice leaders a concise understanding of how proposed changes may impact their practice. The analysis includes an “Executive’s Insights” section with key takeaways, as well as detailed reviews of key policy proposals that would:
Increase the low-volume threshold exclusion from MIPS;
Establish reporting criteria to avoid a future Medicare payment cut; and
Retroactively reduce reporting requirements and associated penalties under the retired quality reporting programs, including PQRS.
MGMA will submit detailed comments in response to these proposed changes, and we anticipate CMS will issue final rules this fall.
