Continuing Education FAQ

By attending the face-to-face conference only, attendees can qualify for up to the following credit totals:

ACMPE: 18.5 | AAPC: 18 | ACHE: 18.5 | CME: 18.5 | CPE: 17.2 | CEU: 18.5

By attending all available Pre and Post conference content (purchase required) as well as the full conference, attendees can qualify for up to the following credit totals:

ACMPE: 24.5 | AAPC: 18 | ACHE: 24.5 | CME: 24.5 | CPE: 24.4 | CEU: 24.5
 

By attending the Digital Experience conference only, attendees can qualify for up to the following credit totals:

ACMPE: 15 | ACHE: 15 | CME: 15 | CPE: 14.4 | CEU: 15

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT: MGMA staff will be positioned to help ensure that your attendance in the event’s sessions are tracked for accurate credit reporting reasons. It is absolutely essential that attendees to sessions meet with a staff member and have their badge scanned for each session they attended while at the face-to-face conference. This ensures that following the completion of the conference content, MGMA is able to accurately list the sessions an attendee completed, and make them available for credit claiming.
 
CLAIMING CREDIT:
 
2021 Medical Practice Excellence: Leaders Conference in San Diego credit will be available for claiming no later than 11/08/2021.
 
2021 Medical Practice Excellence: Leaders Conference Digital Experience (DX) credit will be available for claiming no later than 12/13/2021.
 
We appreciate your patience while we compile, process, and ensure records are matched to allow for a curated credit experience for our members. If there are any issues that come up, the CEU Specialist will be happy to work with members and attendees one on one.

Medical Practice Excellence: Leaders Conference is a prime opportunity for eager professionals to gain valuable insight and propel their success, with the added opportunity to earn multiple continuing education credits. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: The following credit types will be available for registrants who are scanned into the conference sessions:

Target Audience
This activity is targeted to individuals who are interested in learning how to master the business of healthcare.

Learning Levels 
Basic / Overview
Education designed to provide a general understanding of a topic or knowledge area. 

Intermediate/ Update 
Education that builds on a basic curriculum, designed to improve your ability to analyze and apply skills learned to a topic or knowledge area. 

Advanced 
Education that builds on an intermediate curriculum, designed to help you synthesize and evaluate complex concepts to create outcome-based solutions.

Learning Format 
Traditional 
Traditional sessions feature either a speaker sharing his or her knowledge in a lecture-style presentation or a panel of speakers with a moderator facilitating a discussion. Traditional sessions include limited questions-and-answer time with the audience. 

Interactive 
An expert facilitator guides participant through interactive learning formats such as hot topic discussion and case study applications, all designed to foster the sharing of ideas, solutions and best practices. 

Advance Preparation 
There are no advanced preparations required for this conference. 

Official Continuing Education Statement and Availability
 

American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE): 
The credits earned for this virtual content are considered to be “live” credits when participating in person at the face to face event or by participating in the virtual DX event when the content is being presented for the first time (live, with moderators or an ability to interact with the speaker or presenter). If you view the content when it is presented on-demand, the credits then count as “general”, rather than the “live credits” that were issued for participation and attendance in the original event. We look forward to seeing you live and in person at one of our conferences all across the country, virtually at one of our digital conferences, or for one of our live webinars.


American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC):
This program has the prior approval of AAPC for 18 continuing education hours. Granting of prior approval in no way constitutes endorsement by AAPC of the program content or the program sponsor. One AAPC credit is earned for every 60 minutes of educational content, rounded down to the nearest 0.25 or as determined by AAPC.

ACHE Qualified Education:
By attending the Medical Practice Excellence: Leaders Conference offered by the Medical Group Management Association, participants may earn up to 13 ACHE Qualified Education Hours toward initial certification or recertification of the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) designation.

One ACHE credit is earned for every 60 minutes of educational content, rounded down to the nearest 0.25.

Continuing Medical Education (CME): 
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The Medical Group Management Association is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 

The Medical Group Management Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 13 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

One CME credit is earned for every 60 minutes of educational content, rounded down to the nearest 0.25.

Continuing Education Units (CEU): 
A certificate of attendance will be provided to healthcare professionals requesting generic CEUs for professional development, certifications through other professional associations or specialty societies. 

One generic CEU credit is earned for every 60 minutes of educational content, rounded down to the nearest 0.25.
