This automated eBook is designed to expedite compliance in your medical practice, generating all applicable forms in the time it takes to enter practice information (avg 10 min with collected information).

The MGMA Compliance Plan Toolkit is a web-based “wizard” that, combined with a few simple pieces of your practice’s information, generates a customized compliance plan*. This compliance plan covers the seven elements of a small group or third-party billing company’s voluntary compliance plan, as outlined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General in 2000.

Voluntary compliance programs are ending. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 mandates compliance for physicians in order to participate in Medicare. Think of this compliance plan as an investment in your current peace of mind and your practice’s future.

A thoroughly completed and reviewed compliance plan helps a practice organize its approach to compliance issues and focus responses to changes in government regulations.

Policies in the fillable form book include:
  • Code of conduct
  • Compliance officer position description
  • Antitrust laws
  • DEA certification
  • Food and Drug Administration
  • Sunshine Act
  • Professional courtesy
  • Dismissing a patient
  • Non-retaliation
  • Nondiscrimination
  • Sexual harassment
  • Use of nonphysician providers
  • And dozens more
You will need to add further documentation to the customized compliance plan, such as additional policies and procedures documents. MGMA will deliver a custom plan, you will print a hard copy of your compliance plan, and we recommend that you make it available in a central location within your practice.

Information required to complete a customized compliance plan*:
  • Your practice’s full, legal name
  • Abbreviation or simplification of your practice’s name (if applicable)
  • Street address, city, state and zip code
  • Mission statement, if available (a sample mission statement is provided)
  • Compliance officer’s full name
  • Billing company’s full company name (if applicable; can be left blank)

Purchase the MGMA Compliance Plan Toolkit today and create your customized compliance plan in minutes.

*Purchase of the MGMA Compliance Plan Toolkit, allows the purchaser to produce one usable instance of a customized compliance plan per location. For additional locations, additional plans must be purchased.
