Practices
Eligible organization types
- Private practices, hospitals, integrated delivery systems, universities, academic departments, recruiters, management services organizations, physician practice management companies and government organizations are all eligible to submit any MGMA DataDive Survey.
Ineligible organization types
- Freestanding ambulatory surgery center professionals are not eligible to participate in any DataDive Survey.
*Please note that different organization types may receive different questions based on the information entered on their practice profile.
Recently acquired organizations
If your medical practice was involved in a merger or acquisition during the most recently completed fiscal year and you cannot assemble 12 months of practice data, you are not eligible to participate.
Providers
All providers employed by the practice during the most recently completed fiscal year, including any new hires during the fiscal year, are eligible for submission. Providers that did not work at all during the fiscal year should not be included.
Newly hired providers
- Newly hired providers are eligible for submission in DataDive Surveys. When reporting, you must select the corresponding employment status and report their guaranteed total compensation.
Providers that left during the fiscal year
- Providers who left during the fiscal year are eligible for submission in DataDive Surveys. When reporting, you must select the corresponding employment status. Do not annualize any data, including total compensation.
Locum tenens or contracted providers
- Locum tenens or contracted providers are eligible for submission in the Compensation and Production Survey. When reporting, you must select the corresponding employment status.
Single-provider survey submissions
- To maintain the integrity of our data, MGMA only accepts data that is submitted on behalf of the practice and representative of the entire practice – single provider submissions will not be accepted except for solo provider practices.
Managers and Staff
Managers and staff employed by the practice during the most recently completed fiscal year are eligible for submission, including newly hired managers or staff.
Newly hired managers and staff
- Newly hired managers and staff are eligible for submission in MGMA surveys. When reporting, you must select the corresponding employment status and adjust the full-time equivalent to be reflective of the hire date. Do not annualize total compensation and be sure to report an hourly rate, if applicable.
Managers and staff that left during the fiscal year
- Managers and staff who left the practice during the fiscal year are eligible for submission in MGMA surveys. When reporting, you must select the corresponding employment status and adjust the full-time equivalent to be reflective of months worked. Do not annualize total compensation and be sure to report an hourly rate, if applicable.
Single manager and staff survey submissions
- To maintain the integrity of our data, MGMA only accepts data that is submitted on behalf of the practice and representative of the entire practice – single manager and staff submissions will not be accepted.
