    MGMA Stat - Need the most education - Aug. 18, 2017

    Medical Group Management Association’s MGMA Stat poll asked healthcare professionals to describe what area their staff needed the most education/ training.

    47 percent of respondents indicated their organization’s staff needed the most training and education in customer service. These respondents indicated that service was essential to all levels in healthcare, “If we don’t take care of the customer, somebody else will.” Overall, 20 percent indicated the training and education would be beneficial in revenue cycle, citing the importance of an overall understanding of the revenue cycle and its full impact across the practice.  Constant change in government regulations and importance of adhering to guidelines led 13 percent to specify the need for government regulations training and education. 12 percent concluded that leadership development was the area in which their staff needed the most education as leadership training establishes great leaders that drive great organizations. The remaining 8 percent described their staff needed education and training in other areas; often citing a combination of the aforementioned areas. 

    The poll was conducted on August 18, 2017 with 931 total responses. Of this total, 26 indicated the question was not applicable to their situation with a net of 905 applicable responses.
