American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE)

Credit continues to be a free member benefit for Certified Medical Practice Executives (CMPEs) and Fellows in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPEs) and can be claimed on these members' ACMPE transcripts.

ACMPE credit is available to MGMA members who are enrolled in the Association’s credentialing program. Learn more about ACMPE credit.

One ACMPE credit is earned for every 60 minutes of educational contact, rounded down to the nearest 0.25.

Continuing Education Units (CEU)
Generic CEU certificates of attendance are available to registered eLearning participants who complete the course as described above.

This course has the following weekly requirements: 
Weekly time commitment is approximately three to five hours a week of online education and study time, quizzes at the end of each chapter, facilitated proctored quizzes intermittently and a weekly webinar discussion every Wednesday at 6:00 pm EST (UTC-4; 5:00 pm CST, 4:00 am MST, 3:00 am PST). Convert to your time zone.

Beverly Gibson, MBA, M.Ed., CMPE, CPC, CPC-I, CPMA, CEMA is the senior industry advisor to Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) for billing, coding, auditing, and revenue cycle management.  

She has more than 25 years of experience in medical practice administration and financial management. Before joining MGMA, Gibson was a senior consultant for a national consulting firm.

As a certified coding instructor through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), Gibson prepares students for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification examination and a career in medical coding.

She specializes in leveling Evaluation and Management (E&M) services and provides chart audits and independent reviews for medical providers as outlined by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG).

Gibson goes crazy for finding and closing gaps in the revenue cycle.  “It’s probably some little known and as yet un-coded form of OCD,” she quips.

Her credentials include certified coder and instructor, auditor of evaluation and management services and other professional fee services, as well as medical practice executive.

  • Complete a midterm exam
