During his tenure with Tenet Healthcare, Mr. Hertz was responsible for the evaluation, acquisition, and recruitment of a large network of physicians in the south. His work further encompassed onboarding of physicians and physician retention. Mr. Hertz’s work at a mid-sized primary care practice resulted in the expansion of ancillary services, successful acquisition of local practices, and recruitment of additional physicians and advanced practitioners, which significantly increased the practice’s value and led to its sale to a large national hospital system. As a principal with MGMA, Mr. Hertz has overseen the merger of four groups of practices, improving their market share, negotiating strength, and operational processes.
Mr. Hertz’s visioning work with practices has created new board structures, reinvigorated physican leadership, improved staff retention, and improved levels of patient, provider, and employee satisfaction. He is a frequent speaker at national and state meetings for both healthcare and non-healthcare organizations. He has been interviewed on NPR and is a subject matter expert for publications including Healthcare Leaders, Medical Economics, Physicians Practice and numerous specialty publications.
Mr. Hertz holds a BA in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
