Alan BeasonAlan J. Beason, MS, FACMPE, has over 41 years of experience in healthcare administration and association management, including 32 years in medical group practice administration. For over 22 years, he was the CEO and Administrator for Cardiovascular Consultants, LLP, a cardiology practice serving northwest Louisiana, and facilitated its integration into the Willis-Knighton Physician Network as WK-Cardiology. As a member of the Willis-Knighton Physician Network team, he served on the Clinically Integrated Network's Steering Committee, developing a compliance work plan, and facilitated the development of a FQHC affiliation strategy for select practices operated by the hospital's physician network. His prior experience includes serving as the Assistant to the President of the Willis-Knighton Health System in Shreveport; the Associate Administrator for the Steen-Hall Eye Institute in Shreveport; and the Executive Director of the Louisiana Eye Foundation.  

In 2005, he was appointed MGMA's representative to the UnitedHealthcare National Physician Advisory Committee, making him the only non-physician member of this advisory group to the C-suite executives of the UnitedHealth Group. He has spoken at invitation-only programs sponsored by the Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality on pay-for-performance issues, as well as the Healthcare Research and Education Trust program for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation on provider concerns over emerging care models. He has represented provider interests on a state and national level by serving as a spokesperson and organizing various provider advisory groups dealing with managed care issues and pay-for-performance initiatives.  

He served on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana MGMA, holding the offices of Secretary and Treasurer. He was a provider representative on numerous bills before the Louisiana legislature and was the co-author of two bills dealing with streamlining the credentialing process that passed without opposition.
