  • Provide marketing materials, such as a session description, speaker bio andheadshot
  • Forego honorarium charged regularly to other entities

Semi-annual deadline for state speaking requests

National MGMA Government Affairs staff can be a rich resource of industry information and are uniquely positioned to present relevant information to MGMA state audiences. As more statestake advantage of this state MGMA affiliate benefit and request national MGMA government affairs speakers, we are requiring state MGMA affiliates to submit speaking requests for MGMA government affairs presentations prior to a specific deadline, after which date MGMA government affairs staff will determine how best to allocate our resources to accommodate as many speaking requests as possible and will follow up with states in a timely manner to allow states sufficient time to finalize their conference arrangements.
  • MGMA government affairs will solicit and collect state MGMA speaking requests on a semi-annual basis to help us better manage our speaking engagements during the busy spring and fall conference seasons.
  • All applicable speaking requests must be submitted by the semi-annual deadlines, but you are welcome to submit your request in advance of the deadline. Decisions about availability will be made in a timely manner following the speaking request deadline, at which point MGMA government affairs staff will confirm their availability and formally respond to all state speaking requests received by the deadline.
  • Each calendar year, a state may request one government affairs national MGMA staff and one non-government affairs national MGMA staff to give an in-person presentation at a state MGMA event at no charge. These two requests are separate and non-interchangeable. Both requests may be used for the same event or separate events.
  • Because MGMA government affairs staff travel to states for speaking engagements in addition to being responsible for the Association's advocacy efforts in Washington, any subsequent requests beyond the one annually allotted to MGMA state affiliates will incur a discounted honorarium of $1,500.00 (reduced from $2,500), with all travel expenses also reimbursed by the state. Please note that this policy appliesto state MGMA affiliates only
