Electronic Health Records (EHR)

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 contains provisions affecting healthcare in general and physician practices in particular. In an effort to increase the adoption rate of EHRs in physician practices, the legislation includes financial incentives for eligible physicians that use qualified EHR. Temporary Certification Program Final Rule
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) established a temporary certification program for health information technology. The program provides a way for organizations to become authorized by the National Coordinator to test and certify EHR technology. EHR certification is required to qualify for the Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive program. Read a fact sheet and FAQs.
