DOJ and HHS enforcement actions and recommendations target opioid abuse and misuse

Summary:

Last week, the Department of Justice announced its largest ever fraud enforcement action, which resulted in charges against more than 400 individuals for fraud and abuse violations and the exclusion of 295 physicians, nurses, and non-physician practitioners (NPPs) from federal health programs for opioid diversion and abuse.
