Anders M. Gilberg

Anders M. Gilberg, MGA
Senior Vice President, Government Affairs

Anders Gilberg is Senior Vice President, Government Affairs for the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). In leading MGMA’s advocacy efforts, he works tirelessly to create positive change for physician practices and assist MGMA’s members in meeting the challenges posed by today’s rapidly evolving healthcare environment. Anders serves on MGMA’s executive leadership team and manages the Association’s office in Washington DC. With over twenty years of government and health policy experience, Anders is well known for his detailed understanding of federal health policy and its impact on physician group practices. Key to his success is his ability to translate complex legal and regulatory issues into a practical real world framework to find solutions to healthcare’s most challenging problems. 
 
Before rejoining MGMA in 2007, Anders served five years as Assistant Director of Federal Affairs for the American Medical Association (AMA). At the AMA he was responsible for representing the nation’s largest physician organization before the Administration and Congress on a wide range of policy issues. Prior to the AMA, Anders held several positions with MGMA Government Affairs and served on the professional staff of the Pennsylvania General Assembly as an analyst on its House Aging and Youth Committee.
 
Anders holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA, and a master's degree in government administration from the Fels Center for Government at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa.

Rob Tennant

Robert M. Tennant, MA
Director, Health Information Technology Policy


Robert focuses on federal legislative and regulatory health information technology issues, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), electronic health records, electronic prescribing and ICD-10. He participates in numerous industry efforts, including:

  • Board of Directors of the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI)
  • WEDI's Strategic National Implementation Process
  • Certification Commission for Health Information Technology EHR Expert Panel
  • American Health Information Community Consumer Empowerment Workgroup
  • National Uniform Claim Committee
  • e-Health Initiative's Policy Steering Committee
  • Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare CORE initiative
  • Healthcare Administrative Simplification Coalition (HASC)


Robert began his work with MGMA in June 1997.  He received his undergraduate degree from Carleton University and his master's degree from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. Robert also attended the University of Maryland, College Park for Doctoral studies. Robert has also received the WEDI Distinguished Service Award and Leadership in Technology award.

Jennifer McLaughlin

Jennifer McLaughlin, JD
Senior Associate Director, Government Affairs

Jennifer advocates for policies that assist physician group practices in succeeding in today’s increasingly regulated federal health care system, focusing on Medicare physician payment and quality issues. She represents MGMA in Washington, maintaining relationships with coalition groups and executive agencies, and frequently speaks on issues impacting MGMA members at national and state meetings. Jennifer helps to oversee the Association’s outreach to members, coordinating with her colleagues to educate members on pressing health policy issues, as well as translating member feedback into grassroots advocacy campaigns.

Jennifer started at MGMA in June 2013. Previously, she gained relevant experience at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Inova Health System. Jennifer earned her law degree from George Mason University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree in psychology and English writing from the University of Pittsburgh.

Jennifer Pollack

Jennifer Pollack, JD
Associate Director, Government Affairs

Jennifer’s duties include monitoring federal legislative and regulatory issues including fraud and abuse, compliance, and recovery audit contractors. She also represents MGMA in Washington and maintains relationships with various Congressional offices, executive agencies and coalition groups.

Before MGMA, Jennifer worked as a Healthcare Legislative Assistant for a U.S. Congressman from Arizona where she was responsible for tracking healthcare policy changes. Prior to that, she served as an associate attorney at a law firm where she researched and advised on regulations relating to the Affordable Care Act.

Jennifer earned her law degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from The George Washington University. She started at MGMA in July 2014.

Suzanne Falk

Suzanne Falk
Associate Director, Government Affairs

As a member liaison for MGMA Government Affairs, Suzanne works closely with her D.C. colleagues to represent the medical group practice voice in Washington, converting member feedback into direct advocacy with policy makers. She coordinates Association grassroots efforts, frequently speaks at MGMA state and national meetings, and serves as an informational resource to MGMA members, helping to navigate complex details of new federal regulations and legislation. Since joining MGMA in 2012, Suzanne has cultivated an expertise in federal policies that have a direct, daily impact on medical group practices, including quality reporting programs and new value-based payment initiatives.

Prior to joining MGMA, Suzanne interned for a senior U.S. Congressman from Maryland in both his district and Capitol Hill offices. She graduated with honors from the University of Maryland with a degree in Government and Politics and is currently working towards her Masters in Public Policy at Georgetown University where she specializes in healthcare and domestic economic policy.

Mollie Gelburd

Mollie Gelburd, JD
Associate Director, Government Affairs

Mollie serves as a member liaison for MGMA Government Affairs and has broad expertise in the details of federal legislative and regulatory issues, and their impact on group practices. She coordinates Association grassroots efforts and is a frequent speaker at MGMA state and national meetings. Previously, she worked as an attorney advisor in the Office of Appellate Operations at the Social Security Administration, where she was responsible for advising on the legal and factual accuracy of disability determinations and drafting decisions on behalf of administrative appellate judges.  

Mollie earned a law degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Radford University.

Gina Buschatzke

Gina Buschatzke
Government Affairs Specialist

Gina is responsible for compiling and distributing the weekly Washington Connection e-newsletter, developing interactive online member tools and maintaining website content for the Government Affairs department. She additionally provides research and editing support for departmental materials.

Before joining MGMA, Gina interned at Families USA where she was responsible for outreach and communication. She also interned with Banner Health Group where she worked on a medical staffing model that aimed to promote value-based care. Gina holds a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. She has been with MGMA since July 2014.
