Foley, JohnFlying in Formation: The High-Performance Climb

3:00-4:30 pm
John Foley, former lead solo pilot, Blue Angels; founder and chief executive officer, CenterPoint Companies, Sun Valley, Idaho

Learn more about John Foley

John Foley's dream of carving up the skies as a Blue Angels pilot began as he stood as a child alongside his father at an air show, watching the elite United States Navy flight-demonstration squadron. Years later, through persistence, hard work and the will to overcome obstacles, Foley achieved his dream as a Blue Angels lead solo pilot in an F/A-18 Hornet.

Foley was already an elite aviator when he joined the Blues, earned by spending thousands of hours as a carrier pilot and an instructor pilot. But to perform with this team – flying at speeds of more than 500 miles per hour and in formations as close as 18 inches away from teammates in other planes – required levels of performance beyond anything he'd done before. "What I learned most from being with the Blue Angels had nothing to do with flying itself," Foley says. "I learned the process of engaging at this high level, when my very life depended on successful communication, accurate information, trust and follow through."

Today, he is founder and chief executive officer of CenterPoint Companies, providing in-depth training on high performance. He is also founder of the Glad To Be Here Foundation, which administers a giving-forward program that partners with clients to make donations to worthy charities. He lives in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Capturing your full potential and removing barriers to high performance is not an impossible dream but rather a truly achievable goal. John Foley, former lead solo pilot for the famed Blue Angels flight-demonstration squadron, will inspire and teach you about the principles and practices of aligning the objectives of your team and organization, enabling you to keep everyone operating in sync as they work toward a purpose larger than self. Come to this inspiring session and learn how discipline, commitment and incremental improvements will improve performance outcomes for you, your team and your organization.

This session will provide you with the knowledge to:

  • Articulate the impact of limiting and liberating beliefs
  • Discover the role of CenterPoint™ in aligning teams and their purpose
  • Focus on process and eliminate distractions
  • Explain the importance of contracts with others
