Experience

Cindy Dunn has 34 years of experience in healthcare, including 25 years in management, 18 as the administrator of two medical private practices, and six years in nursing management for a hospital-owned physician practice. The last 10 years of her private practice work focused exclusively on an orthopaedic practice. Cindy offers clients practical and efficient solutions utilizing technology in both business and clinical management. She has experience in managing special projects, such as planning and guiding a medical practice through the construction of a medical office building and ambulatory surgery center. Cindy is well versed in evaluating workflow processes and in assisting with the operational redesign necessary for successful technology implementation.

Expertise

Cindy helps practices assess their existing and potential information systems in light of the operational and financial challenges facing medical groups today. She understands the request-for-proposal (RFP) process faced by practices and can help administrators and physicians navigate the world of technology. She balances her technical skills with an understanding of the practice environment necessary to ensure that patients are well-served and the practice is more efficient. Cindy views technology as a tool that assists, not drives, practice operations.

Affiliations and credentials

Cindy is a frequent speaker for national and regional organizations, discussing strategic planning/preparation, business operations, revenue-cycle management and technology. She is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE) and a member of MGMA-ACMPE, the HIMSS Davies Ambulatory Committee, the eHealth Initiative, faculty for Health IT Certification, and a Provider Juror and Tester for CCHIT (Certification Commission for Health Information Technology).
