ACMPE Certification Commission Nominating Subgroup

2. Make recommendations to the MGMA-ACMPE Board for persons to be nominated for the designated Board of Director position serving as the ACMPE Certification Commission Liaison.

ACMPE Examinations Committee

1. Establish examination procedures that insure all examinees are provided a fair and impartial opportunity to meet examination requirements.

2. Serve as Examination Mentors, as needed.

3. Review the composition and format of the essay and objective examinations, systematically updating each.

4. Assist in writing, reviewing and updating essay and objective examination questions, as well as items for ACMPE assessments as needed.

5. Make any recommendations to the ACMPE Certification Commission for changes in the way the examination is structured or administered.

6. Serve as proctors at designated exam sites.

7. Establish procedures to assure confidentiality of the exams and exam results.

8. Ensure that proper standards of grading essay and objective examinations are maintained.

9. Periodically evaluate reaction of examinees to the exams in order to enlist constructive criticism useful in updating the examination program and procedures and obtain outside expert consultation as needed in the areas of test construction and evaluation.

10. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the ACMPE Certification Commission from time to time.

Ethics Committee

1. Review and evaluate at least bi-annually, or more frequently if needed, the Code of Ethics and Disciplinary Procedures, and make any necessary recommendations for modification to the Board.

2. Receive all alleged violations of the Code of Ethics, and determine their proper resolution in the manner set forth in the Code document.

MGMA-ACMPE Finance/Audit Committee

1. Has direct oversight and responsibility for the financial rules, policies and procedures of the Association.

2. Implement and review the annual audit of the Association and report the results of it to the Board of Directors.

3. Review the annual budget of the Association and submit the budget to the Board of Directors for approval.

4. Monitor the functions of the Investment Advisory Subcommittee.  (See subcommittee role described below.)   Receive reports and recommendations from the Subcommittee, and forward such recommendations, when appropriate, to the Board of Directors.

Investment Advisory Subcommittee

1. Report to the Finance/Audit Committee.

2. Regulate, review and propose revisions to the Associations' investment policy.

3. Make decisions regarding the investment consultant retained and the money managers chosen on behalf of the Associations.

4. Regulate and review the investment performance of the investment consultant and money managers and monitor compliance of such performance with the Associations' investment policy.

5. Manage the investments of the Associations’ retirement plans, reserves and other funds.



6. Review distributions from and contributions to the retirement plans on a quarterly basis.

7. Develop and review proposed changes to the design of the retirement plans and recommend such changes to the Finance/Audit Committee for its consideration.

MGMA Government Affairs Committee

1.  Inform MGMA’s advocacy initiatives by providing member feedback and perspective on legislative and regulatory issues and their impact on group practices.
2. Review proposed federal legislation and regulations and recommend appropriate action.
3. Recommend changes to existing MGMA policy when necessary to accomplish effective advocacy goals..
4. Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory developments and political dynamics impacting MGMA advocacy priorities.
5. Recommend to the Board of Directors new federal legislation and regulation to modify existing laws of interest to the Association.
6. Meet periodically via conference call and once annually in person to discuss the latest legislative and regulatory issues with the Government Affairs staff.

Patient Safety and Quality Advisory Committee

1. Advise the MGMA-ACMPE Board of Directors, staff, and membership in understanding their role in impacting and enhancing patient care quality, safety, and satisfaction within group practice.
   
   
2. Assist in defining the role of group practice leaders in matters pertaining to health care quality, patient safety and patient satisfaction in their medical groups.
   
   

3. Define the responsibilities of medical practice leaders (and the complementary responsibilities of physicians and others) in providing the processes and systems to provide safe, high-quality patient care.

4. Advise MGMA-ACMPE staff in developing resources and educational materials to allow group practice leaders to impact patient safety, quality and satisfaction within their medical groups.

Survey Advisory Committee

1. Review the eligible scholarship applications for The Bachrach Family Scholarship for Excellence in Medical Practice Management. The Bachrach scholarship typically draws 65-80 applicants each year. Each application ranges in length from 10-15 pages.
