Sheila Richmeier, MS, RN, CMPE

MGMA author Sheila RichmeierIn her role with TransforMED as a practice enhancement facilitator, Sheila Richmeier assists primary care practices with implementing the Patient Centered Care model.  Richmeier has a rich background in health care with more than 20 years of experience in multiple medical settings as a clinician and a practice administrator. Her experience includes hospital and community settings (home health and physician's offices).

Her medical practice experience began in the late '90s when she was a nursing supervisor of an urgent care center in a 55 physician multi-specialty practice. She also managed workers compensation and risk management. Because of her operational wisdom, she provided assessments and managed other nursing departments. She was later hired as a practice manager in addition to providing consulting services to medical practices and presentations to various healthcare organizations.

Richmeier is proficient in financial and business office operations while identifying creative methods in determining clinical staffing needs and efficiencies. Throughout her practice management career, she has managed several primary care clinics and a general surgery practice. Each of these practices has offered challenges in both clinical and business operations. She has excelled in identifying areas to increase operational efficiencies.

Richmeier completed her master's in nursing administration from the University of Kansas School of Nursing and is a Certified Medical Practice Executive in the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
