Assist in conducting tutorial sessions in cooperation with staff for individuals preparing to take the examinations. Serve as Examination Mentors, as needed. Review the composition and format of the essay and objective examinations, systematically updating each. Assist in writing, reviewing and updating essay and objective examination questions, as well as items for ACMPE assessments as needed. Make any recommendations to the ACMPE Board for changes in the way the examination is structured or administered. Serve as proctors at designated exam sites. Establish procedures to assure confidentiality of the exams and exam results. Ensure that proper standards of grading essay and objective examinations are maintained. ACMPE Professional Papers Committee
The Professional Papers Committee shall: Assist Nominees and Certified Medical Practice Executives in paper/case study preparation by:a. Reviewing and evaluating paper and case study outlines and manuscripts in light of existing standards for acceptable papers/case studiesb. Providing constructive comments for improvement for resubmissions. Assist staff with tutorial sessions for individuals preparing to write their papers/case studies. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the ACMPE Board Chair from time to time. The Professional Papers Committee Chair shall: Ensure a uniform and constructive approach to the development and final approval of each paper and to carry out the purposes of the professional paper requirement so that both the interests of the ACMPE and the authors are served. Be specifically charged with urging all Nominees and Certified Medical Practice Executives to complete the professional paper requirement. Help conduct professional paper tutorial sessions. Assist staff with committee meetings and committee appointments. Attend the face-to-face committee meeting at the MGMA Annual Conference in October. Offer feedback to Team Leaders throughout the year. The Team Leaders shall: Perform all functions listed above for committee members. After reviewing grading team comments and recommendations for improvement and assessing an author’s performance in response to these suggestions, will determine and communicate the scope of improvements needed for acceptance of the outline/manuscript to the author. MGMA-ACMPE Professional Development Advisory Committee
Serve as advisory to staff and makes recommendations to Board of Directors. Assess educational programs and products. Review the Education and Information Center needs analyses and make recommendations regarding educational and informational programs and products. Advise staff in the selection and development of content for the production of future educational programs and products, and information programs, products and services within the context of the unified Association curriculum model. Review, provide advice on, and ratify the education plans for current programs and product offerings. Serve as a communication link to member education program committees, and other constituents to provide information on and access to the research, curriculum, staff resources and recommendations of the learning department as an effective means of providing direction to the development of their programs. Review and provide regular input to the Emerging Issues and Hot Topics Report on which MGMA bases many education and Information Center products and services. This report is published 2-3 times a year. Review efforts to ensure that annual ACCME guidelines are met. Assure compliance with guidelines of all other accrediting bodies with which the Associations have a sponsor relationship. Evaluate on a periodic basis the extent to which the Associations’ educational goals and objectives as set forth in the MGMA/ACMPE/MGMA CFR strategic plan are being achieved by their educational activities. Serve as advisory to staff. Help staff better understand the needs of students, faculty and other stakeholders in the university community. Provide input and direction in the recruitment and retention of student and faculty members. Help build a bridge between the Associations and the university community. Help raise the awareness of the ACMPE Body of Knowledge for Medical Practice Management in the university community and its use for curriculum development. Provide input and direction in the expansion of the MGMA-ACMPE Student Network Program. Provide input and direction with the development of the internship/residency program.
